The RTX 3080 Ti is the upper high-end graphics card from Nvidia RTX 3000 series and it offers excellent gaming performance. Considering the performance the Ryzen 9 7950X holds, I’d say that the RTX 3080 Ti is a budget option for this processor. However, this graphics card has enough power to run games at 4K resolution with high frame rates which makes it a great choice for gamers.

You’ll get the same great gaming and productivity experience with the RTX 3080 Ti that you would with the RTX 3090, but at a fraction of the price. Nvidia created the RTX 3080 Ti by taking away double the memory and a few CUDA cores from the RTX 3090, making it cheaper and more attractive to a wider range of users. However, if we compare the real-world performance of both these graphics cards, there’s only a 2-5% difference which is marginal.

Now, coming to the design, MSI has been following the same pattern for its Gaming series and the RTX 3080 Ti is no different. It features a black and gunmetal grey color scheme with a massive shroud and three huge fans. There are RGBs on the backplate as well as on the top and bottom of the middle fan which gives it a pleasing aesthetics. Furthermore, due to three big fans, this card will be needing a big case and 3-slot of space on your motherboard.

Aside from its gorgeous looks and a sturdy design, the MSI RTX 3080 Ti has strong performance in ray-tracing owing to Nvidia’s Ampere architecture and 2nd Gen Ray Tracing Cores with a total core count of 80, as well as 320 3rd Gen Tensor Cores. So, you can expect some great visuals in supported games.

The MSI RTX 3080 Ti has the same base and boosts clock speeds, CUDA cores, and Memory as the reference GPUs in the market. However, the thing that makes it stand out from the others is the cooling solution and design. MSI used their Tri Frozr 2.0 cooling technology in this graphics card which comprises three TORX 4.0 fans, by providing silent air flow with linked fan blades. Furthermore, The fans stop spinning when the GPU is idle which makes it completely silent.

Reasons to Buy

  • Best flagship GPU from AMD.
  • Delivers exceptional performance for 1440p gaming.
  • ZeroDB cooling keeps the temps low.

Reasons Not to Buy

  • Big and Heavy.
  • Lacks in Ray Tracing performance.

Pairing an AMD processor and an AMD graphics card can give you more performance because the ecosystem works so well together. XFX’s Speedster RX 6900 XT is the flagship AMD graphics card that offers great gaming performance. It is based on the RDNA 2 architecture and features 80 Compute Units with a game clock of 2135 MHz and a boost clock of 2365 MHz which is a little bit higher than the reference models. Moreover, this graphics card is equipped with 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM and can easily handle 4k gaming.

However, if we compare it with the RTX 3090, the XFX RX 6900 XT falls a little bit short in terms of ray-tracing performance due to the lack of specific ray-tracing cores as the Nvidia has. But still, with Ray accelerators, the RX 6900 XT performs admirably. Besides that, it doesn’t have any other major cons and offers great value for money.

In terms of looks, the XFX RX 6900 XT looks very similar to the other graphics cards in the Radeon 6000 series with a black and red color scheme. It features a sturdy aluminum shroud with three fans that offer great cooling. The middle fan is 90mm while the other two are 120mm. XFX has also implemented their ZeroDB technology in this graphics card which stops the fans from spinning when the GPU is idle and makes it completely silent.

Overall, the XFX Speedster RX 6900 XT is a great graphics card for gamers who are looking for the best AMD option. The performance is great and it comes with a very capable cooling solution. However, it doesn’t have any RGBs or any other flashy features because XFX focuses more on performance than looks. But if you’re from the RGB camp, I’d recommend going for MSI Radeon RX 6900 XT Gaming X Trio which has some RGBs to give your rig that extra bit of flair.
